KitKat- Latest Version of Google Android
Sundar Pichai, head of both Android and Chrome, has confirmed that the new Android version that is yet to be released will be called Kit Kat. Yes, you heard me right, it’s the same Kit Kat that you love to buy and eat, that is made by Nestle and licensed by Hershey in US. The latest Android 4.4, will be named after the famous candy bar. The name is yet another add-on to the tradition of naming the version after mouth watering deserts.
“it’s our goal with Android Kit Kat to make an amazing Android experience available for everybody.”, Google said. That’s a bit vague, as in there are no clues to gauge the specifications of the new version yet that small dialogue opened new dimensions of one’s thinking. Before the release people can feel and are waiting to taste the mouth watering new bar. It also suggested that Google plans to use its next Android launch in gaming consoles smart watches, low-cost smart phones, and even laptops that has been rumored ever since.
Pichai says that he has come to know that there are over 1 billion android users after having a meeting with the Asian hardware developers. He also added that “He can’t wait to release the next version of the platform that is as sweet as the candy bar that’s one of our team’s favorites.” To add more spice to the collaboration, a new Willy Wonka-style contest offers the buyers of KitKat a free Nexus 7 or a Google Play credit. Yet the amazing deal doesn’t end at this point if your luck is at cloud 9, you can even win an Android Robot that is shaped and designed as a Ki tKat chocolate bar. Go get lucky!
Most of the specifications in fact none of the specifications are unraveled yet other than one promise that Google is going to give you another very technological advancement that will serve as a milestone in the world of Smartphone software. Yet all you have to do is sit back and wait for the release of the chocolate Android that comes in collaboration with Nestle.
Earlier Google has internally named the new Android release as Key Lime Pie, but the after a thorough research and thinking the company decided otherwise. Director of Android partnerships John Lagerling tells the BBC that “very few people actually know the taste of a key lime pie”. Last year the company suggested to name the latest version KitKat — apparently a favorite snack of Android coders — and the company “decided to reach out to the Nestle folks.” Within a matter of a day or few hours an agreement was reached in between the two parties, apparently it’s “not a money-changing-hands kind of deal,” Lagerling said.
Till then both the Nestle folks and Google have tried every other marketing strategy to create a hype of the upcoming release in the market to catch the intention of the audience. They’re offering free Nexus 7 and other gifts. Let’s see what it will be!
